TERM 4  LEVEL 3

  CAN WE STAY SAFE?  

 

Our main topic for this term will be Keeping Safe Over Summer. Students will participate in several short programs.

·    Intensive 8 day swimming program and basic water survival skills.

·    Road safety – bikes, travelling in cars, walking, crossing roads etc.

·    Being Sunsmart – how to take care in the sun.

Our maths program will have a big focus on language development. Specific topic work will include:
Number - decimals, fractions , reviewing the four processes.
Chance & Data – chance activities, random numbers, likelihood of events happening.
Space –Tessellation of shapes,, investigate how to translate, transform and reflect shapes.
Measurement –measuring, estimating, comparing volume and capacity.
Problem Solving – acting out and using concrete materials, showing all working out.

Students will participate in a swimming program and learn about water safety. We will investigate road safety and include activities on walking, riding bikes and travelling in cars. Students will learn about the importance of being sunsmart and ways they can assist their family to be more conscious of the dangers of the sun.
Stranger danger.

Students will investigate what bullying is and will research ways to deal with bullying in the yard, in the community and on the internet.
