Grades Prep, One and Two

Students will create a collage of a city scene.  They will begin by creating the background out of tissue paper. People, plants, buildings, roads and transport vehicles will be created from a variety of materials and layered over the background.  Students in grades prep will consider size, shape and colour when creating the details to add to their city scene.  Students in grades one and two will investigate methods of drawing three dimensional shapes such as buildings and consider complementary colours when creating and adding details to their city scene.

Grades Three, Four, Five and Six

Students will study the work of Australian Artists: Sidney Nolan, John Brack, Russell Drysdale, Anita Kim, Cindy Tonkin and Robyn Kennedy.  The will write a report and make a brief presentation to their class about their chosen artist. Students will create a piece of collage work in the style of their chosen artist.
